Introduction:
Surah An-Naas is the last chapter of the Qur’an. It is a Makki Surah revealed in Makkah and is often recited alongside Surah Al-Falaq. Both are known as Al-Mu’awwidhatayn, meaning “the two seeking refuge [chapters]”. This Surah is a powerful supplication for protection from the evil of Shaytaan (Satan) and all whispers that affect a person’s heart, mind, and soul.
Verse 1:
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
“Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind,”
Tafseer:
Allah commands the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to say: “I seek protection in the Lord of mankind.”
Here, Rabb (Lord) means the One who nurtures, sustains, and controls all affairs. This verse highlights that protection is sought from Allah alone, the Sustainer of all people, rich or poor, strong or weak.
Verse 2:
مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
“The King of mankind,”
Tafseer:
This verse further describes Allah as the King of all humans – the true Sovereign, Owner, and Ruler over all. It shows that He has complete authority and dominion over humanity. While humans have kings and leaders, they are all under the kingship of Allah.
Verse 3:
إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ
“The God of mankind,”
Tafseer:
This completes the trilogy of attributes: Lord, King, and God of all people. Here, Ilaah means the only one worthy of worship. By listing these attributes, the Surah emphasizes the uniqueness and power of Allah – that He alone deserves to be sought for protection.
Verse 4:
مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ
“From the evil of the whisperer who withdraws,”
Tafseer:
We ask Allah for protection from the evil whispers of Shaytaan – the one who plants evil thoughts in our minds and hearts. The word Waswaas means “one who whispers,” and Khannaas means “one who retreats.”
This refers to Satan, who whispers evil ideas but retreats and hides when Allah is remembered (e.g., through dhikr or prayer).
Verse 5:
الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ
“Who whispers in the hearts of mankind,”
Tafseer:
Satan’s whispers affect the hearts (صدور) of humans – the seat of emotions, intentions, and decision-making. These whispers lead to doubt, anger, envy, evil thoughts, and sinful actions. This verse warns that the heart is the main battleground where good and evil clash.
Verse 6:
مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
“From among jinn and mankind.”
Tafseer:
Whispers don’t come only from devils among the jinn, but also from certain humans who act as agents of evil. This verse reveals that some humans can be just as dangerous as jinn when they corrupt others, spread falsehood, or promote immorality.
Hence, we seek protection from all sources of evil, whether seen or unseen.
Summary of the Surah’s Message:
Surah An-Naas is a spiritual shield. It teaches us:
- To seek refuge in Allah alone, who is our Lord, King, and God.
- That Satan whispers evil into our hearts and then retreats.
- Evil whispers can come from both jinn and humans.

سورۃ الناس – مکمل اردو تفسیر

تعارف:
سورۃ الناس قرآن مجید کی آخری سورۃ ہے۔ یہ ایک مکی سورۃ ہے جو مکہ مکرمہ میں نازل ہوئی۔ اس سورۃ کو سورۃ الفلق کے ساتھ ملا کر المعوّذتین کہا جاتا ہے، یعنی “پناہ مانگنے والی دو سورتیں”۔ یہ سورۃ شیطان اور اس کے وسوسوں سے حفاظت کی دعا ہے جو انسان کے دل و دماغ اور روح کو متاثر کرتے ہیں۔
آیت 1:
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
“کہہ دو: میں پناہ مانگتا ہوں لوگوں کے رب کی۔”
تفسیر:
اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے نبی محمد ﷺ کو حکم دیتے ہیں کہ آپ کہیں: “میں لوگوں کے رب کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔”
یہاں رب سے مراد وہ ہستی ہے جو پرورش دینے والا، سنبھالنے والا، اور ہر معاملے کو چلانے والا ہے۔
اس آیت میں بتایا گیا ہے کہ پناہ صرف اللہ ہی سے مانگی جائے کیونکہ وہی سب انسانوں کا رب ہے، چاہے وہ کمزور ہوں یا طاقتور، فقیر ہوں یا بادشاہ۔
آیت 2:
مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
“لوگوں کے بادشاہ کی،”
تفسیر:
اللہ تعالیٰ کو لوگوں کا بادشاہ بتایا جا رہا ہے، یعنی وہی اصل حکمران اور مالک الملک ہے۔ دنیا میں انسانوں کے بادشاہ ہوتے ہیں، مگر اللہ سب بادشاہوں کا بادشاہ ہے۔
اس سے ہمیں یہ سبق ملتا ہے کہ طاقت اور اقتدار صرف اللہ کے پاس ہے۔
آیت 3:
إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ
“لوگوں کے معبود کی،”
تفسیر:
یہ تیسرا وصف ہے: الٰہ یعنی “عبادت کے لائق”۔
اللہ تعالیٰ صرف رب اور بادشاہ ہی نہیں، بلکہ تنہا معبود بھی ہے، یعنی صرف اسی کی عبادت کی جانی چاہیے۔
یہ تین صفات (رب، ملک، الٰہ) ایک ساتھ مل کر اللہ کی کامل ربوبیت، حکومت اور الوہیت کو بیان کرتی ہیں۔
آیت 4:
مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ
“وسوسہ ڈالنے والے چھپنے والے کے شر سے،”
تفسیر:
ہم اللہ سے پناہ مانگتے ہیں شیطان کے شر سے، جو دلوں میں وسوسے ڈالتا ہے۔
وسواس کا مطلب ہے چپکے سے، بار بار خیال ڈالنے والا۔
خناس وہ ہے جو چھپ جاتا ہے جب اللہ کا ذکر کیا جائے۔
یعنی شیطان انسان کے دل میں برے خیالات، شک، حسد، اور گناہ کی ترغیب دیتا ہے، مگر جب انسان اللہ کو یاد کرتا ہے، تو وہ پیچھے ہٹ جاتا ہے۔
آیت 5:
الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ
“جو لوگوں کے سینوں میں وسوسے ڈالتا ہے،”
تفسیر:
شیطان انسان کے دل و دماغ کو نشانہ بناتا ہے، کیونکہ یہی نیت، فیصلے اور جذبات کا مرکز ہوتے ہیں۔
یہ وسوسے انسان کو شک، کفر، گناہ اور بے راہ روی کی طرف لے جاتے ہیں۔
اللہ تعالیٰ ہمیں خبردار کرتے ہیں کہ دل کا بچاؤ ضروری ہے۔
آیت 6:
مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
“چاہے وہ جنات میں سے ہو یا انسانوں میں سے۔”
تفسیر:
وسوسے ڈالنے والے صرف جنات (شیطان) ہی نہیں ہوتے، بلکہ انسان بھی بعض اوقات دوسروں کو بہکاتے ہیں، گمراہ کرتے ہیں، برے مشورے دیتے ہیں یا گناہ کی دعوت دیتے ہیں۔
یہ آیت ہمیں خبردار کرتی ہے کہ انسانی شیطان بھی خطرناک ہو سکتے ہیں۔
اس لیے ہمیں ہر قسم کے شر سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگنی چاہیے – نظر آنے والے اور نظر نہ آنے والے دونوں سے۔
خلاصہ:
سورۃ الناس ایک روحانی ڈھال ہے جو ہمیں شیطانی وسوسوں سے بچاتی ہے۔ یہ ہمیں سکھاتی ہے کہ:
- پناہ صرف اللہ سے مانگی جائے، جو ہمارا رب، بادشاہ اور معبود ہے۔
- شیطان دلوں میں وسوسے ڈالتا ہے مگر ذکرِ الٰہی سے پیچھے ہٹ جاتا ہے۔
- وسوسے انسانوں اور جنات دونوں سے ہو سکتے ہیں۔
- دل و دماغ کو محفوظ رکھنا ایمان کی حفاظت کے لیے ضروری ہے۔
روحانی فائدے:
- سورۃ الناس کو صبح و شام، سونے سے پہلے اور مصیبت کے وقت پڑھنا روحانی حفاظت کا ذریعہ ہے۔
- یہ سورۃ ہمیں دل کی بیماریوں (شک، حسد، وسوسے) سے بچاتی ہے۔
- یہ ہمیں اللہ پر مکمل بھروسا کرنا سکھاتی ہے۔
